Hello Everyone! There have been a number of small changes to the website since our last update, but I felt it was small enough that I didn't want to clutter your inboxes with them. HOWEVER! Today I am writing to let you guys know that I have put up some new work in addition to one major feature on the updates/home page: |
||||
FEATURE UPDATE: now a sample of my work (or play) will be featured on the front page alongside the updates. The photographs give you a chance to see some of the pieces up close, and they rotate out randomly with every refresh or revisit! I will continue adding to the pile of "randoms" as more pieces are completed.

NEW WORK: there are a few new pieces up in the "play" section: "introversion," "joy," and "lovefool."

| there are a few new pieces up in the "play" section: "introversion," "joy," and "lovefool." Two of these are from sketches I did a year ago for my Japanese water-based woodblock printing class. I decided for the entire duration of the class I would only do prints on bunnies, and these two were ones that later made a reappearance in the form of patterns or thank you cards. The third was a pattern I originally made in hopes of creating an appropriate endsheet for my new portfolio. Even though I later made an alternative pattern, I really enjoyed this one and am holding onto it for future use (suggestions are always welcome, of course). | ||||
MORE CHANGES: other small changes I have made include new bunny icons for the menu across the top, new and updated fonts to go along with my resume and portfolio and resolve some legibility issues, and a new format for descriptions for my work. The icons were inspired by my recent interest in Modern Cartoons of the 50s as well as my own personal growth and development. The descriptions were cut shorter and only include the challenges I had to meet with each assignment, with elaborations reserved for only you guys who are interested =)

OTHER NEWS: I heard from someone that Chronicle Books is getting a lot of pre-orders for The Best Dance Moves in the World...Ever! This is great news since I love the book, I love Chronicle Books, and most importantly, it shows that my cover design is a success in terms of meeting (business) goals!

FINALLY: I have (physically) completed my portfolio (actually, I've made three books!) which included a combination of three different book binding techniques and many versions of revisions. That is, I am finally ready to contact companies and look for a job again! If you or anyone else you know has heard of someone who's in need of a designer, you know which direction to point them =).
