Hello Everyone!

I know it's only been a week since I last updated, but I added two more pieces to my "Play" section which I thought better represents where I'm at as a designer. They can be found under "AIGA" and "thanks."
1) The San Francisco chapter of AIGA asked Chronicle Books to design this year's studio tours poster, and Chronicle Books asked me to design the layout of the poster so that it could be folded down into a book with a spread for every in-house designer to design. The theme of the studio tours was "I'm OK, You're OK," exploring the idea that graphic designers have conflicting needs to feel worthy apart from other designers but also see what those around them are up to so that they can grow.
AIGA spread My spread illustrated two individual designers (one advocating himself, the other hostile and flipping the bird) who come together in the center and make peace. Through their gestures I was also able to illustrate the idea that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts when designers collaborate together.
2) "Thanks" is inspired by my composer friend and her little sister after their family hosted me for almost a week during a major holiday while I was away from my own family.
THANKS
The quiet musical note is actually a closure that unwinds to open up into a wide "BIG THANKS!," illustrating the size of my appreciation and the emotion I feel through the use of color. Little creatures are hidden throughout the play of positive and negative space in the phrase, and the entire card/book comes in a vellum envelope that places the note on a staff while also acting as a label in which you can write the "to/from" on the back.
I hope you enjoy these new additions and keep the feedback and job listings coming =) Thanks again!
