I've made some exciting new changes and additions to the website and while the changes to the site are still in progress, I thought I could let you guys be the first to know and give me feedback so I could incorporate your input as I go! But first, the additions:
More The Electric Company Materials (found in the "work" section under "electric co."): Now that the branding style guides have been completed and released, I am able to share with you more spreads from the style guides that I've designed including a spread for cast illustrations and photography. I've also made some of the image sizes of the other TEC works larger for easier viewing. The overall result of such a fun and successful campaign is that I've been asked to come back on board the past several months to help design a second round of materials. I'm not sure when these will be ready to share with you but hang tight! There are sketches for posters, stickers, a new facilitator's guide and much more coming your way!
Also new to the site is a revamped "play" section where I will not only continue to show a lot of my side projects, but also give a glimpse of my sketchbook from time to time, chronicle experiments both failed and successful, and share with you some cool designs I come across along the way. I will also be reintroducing some of my older pieces that you may remember from past years (or even past websites!) because I find it interesting and worthwhile to see where I've come from and how I've grown.Conversely, I will now reserve the "work" section solely for pieces I put in my portfolio so that the line between the two is more apparent. Therefore, I've currently moved The Blob Blog, ShearQuality.com, and my degree project to "work" and organized the list according to my physical portfolio that I show to clients and companies.
Overall, these changes mean more to see on the site on a (hopefully) more regular basis as I aim to update at least once a week if not more often in my "playground." These updates will not be advertised in the newsletter, as I will be saving this medium for substantial updates such as new portfolio pieces in "work", or more major completed side projects in "play" complete with elaborations on thought processes and other surrounding info as usual. Soooooo, check it out and if you like what you see, subscribe to the rss feed or throw it into your google reader, and definitely give me your feedback! I'm still working out the kinks in appearance and how I want things to navigate etc. etc., so there will be tweaks and changes in the coming weeks until it settles comfortably within the rest of the site. In fact, most likely in the next half year there will be a LOT more substantial changes to the site so that nothing's forced or redundant. That's why I wanted to get the news out to my loyal lovelies first so I could hear what you think and make sure to take it into consideration!
