Hello Everyone! Happy New Year! It's been a long time coming, but I finally have the Forrester Events designs that I've been working on since September: |
The first forum's theme was for their Enterprise Architecture forum: "Leveraging Architecture for Business Impact." For this I chose to play on the idea of "leveraging" and have the cranes ("enterprise" and "architecture") literally build upwards with its business benefits ("open new markets," "engage customers," "find new solutions," and "change business models") For the next theme, I was to create a theme image that emphasized strategy and juggling all the different aspects an infrastructure and operations expert might juggle. The physical assets of a company were symbolized through the businessman , dollar sign, and data server chess pieces. While this image was actually the hardest one to settle on to-date, it eventually was so successful that the Amsterdam division of Forrester Events asked me to make a European equivalent for their forum (replacing the dollar sign with a pound sign based on their attendees)! The final forum theme image was for their marketing forum, "Adaptive Marketing: How to Design a Flexible Organization to Thrive on Change." This was confusing at first because I submitted many sketches based on the idea of flexibility and adaptation and change. However, the analysts eventually talked of wanting to put the science back into marketing, and wanted a sort of lab-coat + high tech look. The result was a minority report-like image where lab-coated marketing experts analyze high-tech data. |

I have yet to revamp the site, as I figured I first want to learn more about Javascript, CSS, HTML, Flash, and when is best to use which. Luckily, I'm taking a seminar on just that this coming Monday with AIGA/Noble Desktop in New York City! Hopefully by the end of this year I will have a site that better reflects my visual aesthetics and personality =). Well, that's it for now! Hopefully this Monday I will be picking up a few more files of my past work and will be able to share them with you shortly. Remember to visit my "playground" for more frequent updates (sketches, interesting art-related things I've come across, side projects, etc.) and if you like what you see, subscribe to the rss feed or throw it into your google reader, and definitely comment, vote, and/or give me your feedback!
Thanks and enjoy!
